Mridual Kalia Bhatnagar aka Mridual Prabhaa
I am a screenwriter, poet, lyricist, author, artist and a performer. My creative journey is a curious mix of different genres of artistic and literary expression. I am a post-graduate in Industrial Chemistry and a qualified formulator and perfumer. I am a story-teller weaving stories in words, painting stories on canvas or capturing through my lens. I write in Punjabi, Hindi, English and Urdu. My first set of poems were published in the year 1986. My articles, cover stories, middles, travelogues, poetry, fiction and leading features have been published in various publications of national repute.
As a freelance journalist I have written for Delhi Press, Grihshobha, Women's Era, Pradanya, Deccan Chronicle, Hyderabad Times, Free Press Journal, Body & Beauty Care, The New Woman, Femina, La Mode International, Fashion Impulse, Ingredients South East Asia, Infantry (Infantry Journal), AWWA Journal and other military journals and newsletters.
I worked as a copywriter with R K Swamy BBDO but quit advertising for journalism and full time writing. I have been a photojournalist too. My pictures are stories in pixels. My travel blogs and Flickr features my photologues.
I am a self taught artist who honed her skill with mentors at the prestigious JJ School of fine arts. As an artist, my Installation Art Wishing Tree and Broken Doll House have been on display at the prestigious Kala Ghoda Art Festival Mumbai. Installation Art called Joy was displayed at Mood Indigo of IIT Mumbai. Broken Doll House which showcased my work as an artist and poet was the most talked about work in media, The Innocence Lost in Indian Express.
I collaborated with reputed photographer for a series of pictures done for Woman's Day.
I also perform dramatised readings of stories and poetry in Hindi and Punjabi on various platforms and kavi goshthis. I read Amrita Pritam, Manto and Chugtai for KathaKathan.
I have my Hindi poetry published in a couple of anthologies of women writers.
My book of short stories in Hindi is available on Kindle Amazon. इनकी उनकी कहानियाँ: (कहानी-संग्रह) (Hindi Edition). My second book, a bilingual anthology of poems about women's issues, supported by my art, is awaiting release.
Presently
I am writing Film Scripts and Lyrics for Hindi/Punjabi films and Web Series.
I have written and directed a short film Rajveer.
A full length feature film is under production.
